Air like most other substance,expand when heated and contract when cooled..because there is more space between the molecular,the air is leas dense than the surrounding matter and the hot air floats upward..
So air, like most other substances, expands when heated and contracts when cooled. Because there is more space between the molecules, the air is less dense than the surrounding matter and the hot air floats upward. This is the concept used in the hot air balloons
When air is heated the molecules vibrate and bump to each other the by increases in space because of the motion since the increase in space the air becomes lighters
