Cholera and COVID-19 are both infectious diseases, but they are caused by different pathogens and present with different symptoms.
Cholera is caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae and is primarily transmitted through the consumption of contaminated food or water. The main symptom of cholera is severe watery diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration and electrolyte imbalances if not treated promptly. Cholera outbreaks are often associated with poor sanitation and lack of access to clean water.
COVID-19, on the other hand, is caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and primarily spreads through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks.
