In other words what you are facing is also called Dysphagia which is at times always caused by other health conditions that affects the nervous system such as stroke,head injury or dementia. Cancer such as mouth cancer or oesophageal cancer gastro-oesophageal reflux disease(GORD)-where the stomach acid leaks back up into the oesophagus.
Your throat can be hurt when you swallow due to a sickness and at times is normal because when you intend swallowing some thing that is big it must hurt and also things that are not soft and and smooth
