Funerals are supposed to be a platform for a celebration of life for the departed, instead of sorrowful mourning. That is why we say people have passed away, instead of saying they are dead. We will meet up again with them when we also depart from this world. It is a known fact that we are taught in Church that Jesus died so we can enjoy everlasting life, which is true.
