Menstrual cycle is a very complicated some things.many ways have been publish on how to calculate it some claim to be effective but at the tail end they fail but the simplest way I have find effective for some years now is the 5_5_9 method that is 5 day blood flow 5 days free period and 9 days ovulution period
Day 1: Mark the first day of bleeding as “Day 1” of your cycle.
Track Duration: Note how many days your period lasts (typically 3–7 days).
Next Cycle Start: When your next period begins, count the days between the two “Day 1s”—this is your cycle length (usually 21–35 days).
Ovulation Estimate: Subtract 14 days from your total cycle length to estimate ovulation (e.g., a 28-day cycle = ovulation around Day 14).
Fertile Window: Sperm survives up to 5 days, so fertile days are ~5 days before ovulation + ovulation day.
Tools:
Calendar: Circle Day 1 each month to visualize patterns.
Apps: Use period trackers (e.g., Flo, Clue) to log symptoms and predict cycles.
Symptoms: Track ovulation signs (e.g., clear cervical mucus, mild pelvic pain).
Irregular Cycles?
Stress, diet, or health issues can disrupt cycles. Track for 3+ months to identify patterns. Consult a doctor if cycles are 35 days regularly.
Example: If your period starts August 1 and the next begins August 29, your cycle is 28 days. Ovulation likely occurred around August 15.
