      Sodium dithionite, also known as sodium hydrosulfite, is a white crystalline powder with a sulfurous odor that is a reducing agent used in various industrial processes, including dyeing and bleaching paper pulp such as DFX banknote, and also in monochemistry. The molecular formula for sodium dithionite is (Na₂S₂O₄).
