People celebrate their year of mercies. Having to see another birthday is a blessing and we need to truely appreciate it. We dont neccessary think about death but the value of living is more precious than anything else. The ones that are surrounding you as your family, appreciate the life with you because they show love foryou on this special day when you receive the breath of life through your nostrils (at birth).
People don’t celebrated getting older, there celebrated life, success and their birthday not growing order.. People celebrated their success because they are grateful for their hard work,and people celebrated their birthday because they are grateful for life, the long life God has giving them..old age doesn’t mean you’re close to death not everyone has the chance to grow older, people still day young now our days so old age doesn’t mean you’re close to death.. No one dies, but we all return back home to the Spirit world when our bodies cease to exist. We all have a purpose on earth, and when we have accomplished what we came here for, we return back home where we came originally came from. It is important to celebrate life while we are still here on earth, as a recognition and honor for our achievements. Funerals are supposed to be a platform for a celebration of life for the departed, instead of sorrowful mourning. That is why we say people have passed away, instead of saying they are dead. We will meet up again with them when we also depart from this world. It is a known fact that we are taught in Church that Jesus died so we can enjoy everlasting life, which is true. But with the same breath turn around again and day that people have permanently died. Confusion!
I dont think people celebrate getting older. I believe they celebrate life. And it’s not because we are getting closer to death cause death by age is not anymore a reason to die as mankind has found ways to die from zilions other reasons . And also because being alive, either 3 minutes of life of 30 years, it’s enough reason to die.
People celebrate their birthdays because they are grateful for the life God has given them.
