One reason the meals are so flavorful is because of the unique techniques used. The French have come up with amazing techniques like flambeing, braising, poaching, and sautéing. These add an incredible burst of texture and flavor to meats, vegetables, and other ingredients.
French cuisine is held in high regard because French Chefs were the first to organize kitchens and document their creations. Their ideas became the model for cooking throughout Europe and through colonialism, the rest of the world. Well a lot of the world anyhow.

They love butter
When Julia Child brought French cooking to the world she famously said, “with enough butter, anything is good.” We couldn’t agree more.
They eat fondue
High up in the French Alps came the guilt-ridden dish, cheese fondue. Truly decadent, it is made by melting cheese with white wine and garlic and serving it in a communal pot for everyone to dip chunks of bread into.
Decadent desserts
If France could be a dessert it would be crème brulee. A rich custard-based dish topped with a layer of toffeed sugar. Completely indulgent, perfectly sweet and unrivalled by any other country in the world.
They drink wine
A lot of wine. You can drink French wine with your meal, while savouring a cheese plate or while sitting and enjoying the sun at a cafe.
Nothing says French Riviera more than a cold glass of light pink rose, or winter like a bold syrah.
